In the Beginning

We have decided to start a blog to document our growing family. Bart and I tried to get pregnant for over a year. I had a surgery May of 2008 for endometriosis that we hoped would help, but there was no guarantee. If anything I was hoping it would help with horrible cramps. Finally we found out we were pregnant in September (the day before we had an appointment with the fertility center). We are so excited. I am 23 weeks and the baby will be here in May (what a difference a year makes). We just found out a few weeks ago that we are having a girl. We have just recently decided to name her Lanie Grace.

At 12 weeks my doctor determined that I have a blood clotting issue that causes my blood to clot easily. She started me on daily blood thinner shots and baby asparin. I am having a lot more ultrasounds and appointments. I will also be induced at 38 weeks. So currently May 19th will be Lanie's birthday. I never dreamed that I would have a high risk pregnancy, but I am trusting and relying on God to get me through it.
